About The Team

We have opportunities for you to specialise in the School Age SEND who are responsible for children and young people age 5 – 19 with an EHCP who attend a school.

About The Role

As a SEND Review Officer, you'll play a vital role in supporting the review process for Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans. This is a process-driven role, requiring strong attention to detail and organisational skills. You'll record annual reviews, update plans where amendments are required, and ensure accurate case management within statutory timelines. While you'll communicate with professionals and occasionally parents/carers, these conversations are focused on gathering information and supporting statutory processes rather than direct work with children or young people.

Responsibilities

  • Recording annual reviews and updating EHC plans where changes are needed.
  • Communicating with professionals to gather outstanding information.
  • Inputting and maintaining accurate and comprehensive database records.
  • Supporting effective case management and integrated working practices.

About You

Essential:

  • Understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and the Children and Families Act 2014, with the ability to interpret and apply this guidance effectively in practice.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure in a busy environment.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written skills to support accurate case recording and contribute to quality EHC plans.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working with children, families, or professionals in education, health, or care settings OR transferable skills/lived experience relevant to SEND.
