This is an exciting opportunity to join out team of internal staff and vehicles transporting pupils with special needs to Watling View School. The school caters for children with a wide range of complex and profound learning difficulties. The role sits within the Integrated Transport Unit (ITU). It delivers transport services for home to school transport and Adult Care services ensuring passengers have access to high quality, efficient journeys. We are looking for people with a caring and professional approach. The ideal person will naturally go above and beyond: acknowledging that our passengers value a friendly face and someone who is thoughtful and considerate: flexibility is therefore essential. You will need to be a good team worker, able to work unsupervised with a ‘can do’ attitude and especially treating people with dignity and respect. On a daily basis you will be working closely with children with varying levels of complex and profound learning difficulties that includes sever autism, complex medical conditions, physical and mobility difficulties as well as severe developmental delay. The ideal candidate would be able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people, which includes vulnerable children with special needs, parents, and school staff.
