As a Senior Social Worker you will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the delivery of social services to communities or specific areas.
About The Role
- Coordinating different social workers and support services
- Managing schedules and handling issues or concerns within the community
- Providing emotional support and guidance to individuals and families
- Assessing and reviewing the situations of individuals and families
- Organising and managing packages of support to enable people to lead fuller lives
- Making referrals to other agencies and participating in multidisciplinary teams
- Maintaining accurate records and preparing reports for legal action

We have opportunities in the following services:
- Older Peoples Team West
- Dacorum Locality Team
Main base - Apsley, Hemel Hempstead
35 hours per week (Older People Service) and 37 hours per week (Three Rivers Locality Team). The Older Person Service is a dynamic service that works across the community under the Care Act to safeguard, assess, plan support and review adults and carers with long term health and social care needs. We can offer hybrid working arrangements, flexible working practices, community engagement and volunteer activities and promote continuous Learning & Development.
About You
Essential:
- You will be an SWE registered Social Worker, with at least 2 years post qualified experience and a full driving licence.
- You will have successfully completed an ASYE program working to the Social Work England professional standards.
- You will undertake The Care Act assessments for eligible current and historical cases, using our Connected Lives strategy to review and manage packages of care.
- You will also actively undertake a specialist role, e.g. AMHP, Best Interest Assessor or Practice Educator, have a place secured on a course, or commit to undertaking this as soon as appointed.
This is a fast-paced, community-focused environment. Hybrid working is available, with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.
