Job Title: Driver Support Worker
Starting Salary: £25,185 (£13.05 per hour) progressing to £25,583 (£13.26 per hour) per annum (pro rata for part time)
Hours: 25 and 37 hours per week available
Location: Hertfordshire
Contract Type: Permanent
Directorate: Adult Care Services
About the Role
As a Driver Support Worker, you will:
- Hold a valid UK Driving Licence with Category D1 entitlement; conduct daily and weekly vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness.
- Support individuals with and without mobility equipment in and out of vehicles, using tail-lifts and ramps where necessary.
- Assist with personal care tasks, including bathroom support, mobility aids, and dietary needs (training provided).
- Participate in activities with the people we support, both on and off site.
- Perform manual handling tasks, including bending, crouching, and kneeling.
About the Teams
We have vacancies in the following locations:
- Borehamwood – Borehamwood Day Service – 37 hours per week
- Stevenage – Leyden House – 37 hours per week
About You
Essential:
- A valid UK Driving Licence with Category D1 entitlement.
- Previous experience driving larger vehicles and working as part of a team.
- A person‑centred approach to care, with a commitment to Equity, Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.
- Physically able to meet the demands of the role.
