This is an exciting opportunity to join the Recycling Centre service team with our vision to increase recycling rates and divert waste from landfill.
You will act as Deputy Manager on site, instructing and mentoring operatives when the Site Manager is on leave. Responsibilities include:
- Safe opening and closing of the site
- Managing documentation
- Assisting service users
- Checking permits
- Ensuring waste streams are segregated
- Maintaining a clean environment
- Seeking improvements in customer service and recycling rates
Training will be provided for equipment operation, first aid, fire safety, manual handling, and plant operation. Opportunities for progression are available.
Applicants should have a proven track record of delivering excellent customer service, high standards of work, and interpersonal skills to advise residents on waste disposal. Ability to remain calm under pressure, work safely, and follow procedures in all weather conditions is essential. Experience in physical effort and team management is required. You must be the designated first aider and fire marshal on site, with training provided for operating JCBs.
