Lecturer in Construction – Broxbourne Campus – Permanent – Full Time
Salary £28,555 to £40,092 per annum, including Market Supplement, dependent on experience and qualifications
As a Lecturer in Construction, you will deliver the full range of professional services associated with programmes of teaching, learning and assessment, across a range of courses and student support, including T-Level delivery within Construction.
From September 2023 Hertford Regional College will begin delivery of the new T-Level Qualifications, these courses have been developed in collaboration with employers and education providers so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares students for entry into skilled employment, an apprenticeship or related technical study through further or higher education.
T-Levels offer students practical and knowledge-based learning at college and on-the-job experience through an industry placement of at least 315 hours – approximately 45 days.
Hertford Regional College is looking for a highly motivated individual to co-ordinate and deliver our T-Level programme in Construction. The successful candidate will receive support from the AOC and ETF to develop T-Level curriculum and delivery, working with our team of placement coordinators to support high quality Industry placements. Ideally the successful candidate will have experience in any of the following:
- Supporting or leading a T-levels curriculum
- Experience of working with employers and young people
- Experience of delivering training
- Experience of the built environment and industry practices
- Experience in sustainability and renewable practices (Green Skills)
- An understanding of site management practices
We looking for candidates who have experience in, or be willing to upskill, in the following:
- Science and Building Technology
- Surveying and design for construction and the built environment
- Civil Engineering
- Building services design
- Hazardous materials analysis and surveying
This role would be ideal for an established FE teacher or an industry specialist who wishes to transition into FE teaching. If you have industry experience and a desire to teach, we can help fully support you to becoming a fully qualified teacher as well as provide industry upskilling.
