The Senior Finance Analyst is the owner of all customer and brand reporting & analysis for the EU Europe markets (across 5 distributors) including P&L by country, customer, brand & segment. Driving discussions & actions with cross functional team in line with commercial strategy and profitability benchmarks. Leads outlook & plan for the business unit, prepares related communication materials to senior management & is responsible for driving the cross-functional team to deliver results. Key stakeholder in the overall trade promotional governance to optimise and evaluate spends. Supports the month-end process.
Summary of major duties:
- Drives and supports the integrated process of annual plan, business outlook and supports the SNOP process of the Europe markets.
- Sets timeline, task list and deliverables for the cross functional team & monitors delivery.
- Prepares analysis and financials for review before finalising presentation slides for Europe management business reviews.
- Owns P&L by country, customer, brand & segment with analysis & insights to drive action points.
- Meets with sales and brand managers regularly to improve margins while optimising trade promotions and direct brand investments.
- Manages risk & opps to drive the right business decisions.
- Governs and monitors the overall trade promotions with the commercial teams to ensure trade spends are optimised with a strong level of rigor into the promo analysis.
- Supports portfolio including innovations and pricing decisions as well as distributor pricing structure while working closely with sales and marketing teams.
- Oversees portfolio profitability at the item level and contributes to growth strategy while analysing and providing recommendations to improve efficiency of price promotions and marketing investments.
- Contributes to innovation process considering the consumer, retailer, and distributor knowledge as well as projection of pricing and profitability of innovation items.
- Maintains a healthy understanding of the distributor’s workstreams for HSY business, seeking dialogue for ways of improvement & synergies.
- Contributes to key financial aspects of distributor relationship such as conflict resolution, annual contract evaluation, FX rate settlement.
- Works closely with controlling team, including assistant controlling manager for EMEA as well as global business services team members (including DBE accounting, general ledger accounting, accounts receivable etc.) to drive decision and improvement points through insights & analysis.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
- Must have excellent skill level in excel, good presentation skills, good understanding of management accounting.
- Must demonstrate potential for growth and taking responsibility.
