We are currently seeking a qualified individual for the Weekend Security Guard position, joining our Nottingham, PA team!
Hourly Rate: Starting at $15.00/hour
Schedule: Friday, Saturday and Sunday 11:00pm-7:00am
Benefits: This position is part-time benefit eligible. Elective benefits include basic dental and vision coverage, critical illness insurance, accident insurance, hospital indemnity, a prepaid legal plan, and identity theft protection. The company also provides opportunities to contribute to a 401k and provides EAP services. Benefits start the first of the month following 30 days of service (unless otherwise noted in the plan description).
Key Responsibilities:
- Security: Operates manufacturing security desk, checking in visitors, temporary staff and vendors providing professional customer service. Answers facility phones, documents call in complaints and redirects/delivers in a timely manner. Observes entering/exiting at shift change to protect against unauthorized entries or theft. Notifies authorities in the case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons. Notifies specific departments or managers in the event of a non-emergency.
- Patrolling: Patrols buildings and grounds or any company owned property as directed. Ensures all buildings are physically secure, void of unauthorized persons, irregularities such as leaking water pipes, fire hazards, etc. Registers at watch stations to record time of inspection trips in various locations.
- Administrative: Operates the security access system with regard to dispensing and deactivating keycard access and/or fingerprint access. Reports malfunctions or issues to supervisor. Provides documentation following policy and procedures regarding detected security incidents (e.g. property damage, unusual occurrences, malfunction of equipment). Coordinates with vendor(s) as needed to address security issues, systems. Maintains and updates all checklists and charts. May transport individuals to off campus locations for non-emergent situations such as drug screens, post-accident, etc.
In addition to the essential functions listed above, the employee is expected to exercise honesty, integrity and respect with all clients and co-workers, preserve confidentiality of all business information and data, maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, demonstrate a positive attitude, communicate effectively with co-workers and clients, work with accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail, respect the work environment and keep it as environmentally friendly as possible, and exercise initiative to learn new skills and tasks and to help co-workers when possible. Reliable attendance and punctuality are also required. The employee is also expected to perform other related duties, special projects and functions as required from time to time.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED with basic computer skills required.
- 6+ months security experience, preferred.
- Demonstrated customer service skills and phone etiquette.
- Must have a valid driver's license in state of residence and an approved driver's record.
- Must be able to read, write, understand and speak English. Spanish is helpful but not required.
- Ability to fill-in as needed on weekend and/or other shifts.
- Training will be provided – successful completion and certification of Smith System Defensive Training courses within 60 days of hire.
