Located in Runcorn, United Kingdom, our newly extended 120,000 sq. ft. facility is a fully integrated site offering comprehensive manufacturing, repair, and overhaul services to the major players in the landing gear industry. Designated as a Center of Excellence, the facility specializes in surface treatment and assembly of small to medium sized landing gear systems. As a key part of the Centre of Division, we support several global programs, including: Gripen – SAAB, Hawk - BAE Systems, KF21 - Hanwha Aerospace, AW101 - Leonardo Helicopters. With a strong focus on cutting‑edge technology, advanced manufacturing processes, and lean techniques, we are committed to delivering high‑value, precision‑engineered components for complex landing gear systems.

Job Summary

The Cycle 1 Strip Technician is responsible for the inspection, stripping, fault‑finding, build and test of hydraulic units in accordance with quality and regulatory requirements. The role requires proficiency with precision measurement equipment, the ability to interpret engineering drawings, and strong mechanical maintenance skills. Working collaboratively, the technician ensures all components meet required standards and support safe, efficient operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspection of non-complex hydraulic units
  • Investigation and fault finding of hydraulic units
  • Fully conversant with measurement equipment such as Vernier’s, micrometers, etc.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Previously worked to documentation within a quality/regulatory controlled environment

Requirements

  • Awareness of mechanical/hydraulic assemblies
  • Experience in mechanical maintenance, adjusting and fixing of parts
  • Experience working in a quality/regulatory controlled environment
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Collaborate effectively within a team
