Division Info Nottingham landing gear operations span a 48,000 sq. ft. facility dedicated to the manufacture of small to medium landing gear components. Recognised as the UK Technical Centre of Excellence, the site specialises in precision machining of aluminium, titanium, and hardened steels. Job Summary: The Material Handler is a key member of the MP&L team, responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of goods and sub-contract services from suppliers to Heroux-Devtek’s point of need and onward to the customer. To successfully perform this role you must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, working collaboratively with the MP&L team and associated operational functions to meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive goods for purchased, free-issue, sub-contract, and tooling orders, including unloading materials from vehicles.
  • Store all materials in accordance with specifications and procedures.
  • Support logistics activities by arranging transport for incoming and outgoing goods, working closely with carriers and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with import and export documentation, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately and in compliance with customs, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Maintain copies of Proof of Delivery (POD) and delivery documentation.
  • Issue material to works orders and progress onto the shop floor.
  • Pack and protect all parts leaving the site to meet quality standards.
  • Identify and report process issues to the planning team.
  • Manage works order launch process and issue to the shop floor.
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels of boxes, packaging, and ancillary items to prevent shortages or over-ordering.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Material handler, despatch operations, logistics, or supply chain.
  • Strong understanding of works order processes and shop floor requirements.
  • Ability to manage stock levels effectively and prevent shortages.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
