We are looking for a Food Buyer to take ownership of a broad grocery portfolio within our fast-moving, customer-first retail environment. Based at our Store Support Centre in Melton (HU14 3HJ), this is your chance to make a real impact in a growing, empowered business. We are open to flexible working, with a minimum of three days per week in the office, giving you the balance of collaboration and autonomy to thrive in your role.
What You’ll Be Doing
- You’ll be the commercial lead across Core Grocery categories, driving sales growth, margin improvement, and customer satisfaction through smart trading decisions.
Key responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of a broad grocery product portfolio (ambient, shelf-stable, branded & own-label).
- Deliver profitable sales growth through range development, pricing, and promotions.
- Negotiate and manage Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with key suppliers.
- Build long-term supplier partnerships to unlock growth, value, and innovation.
- Stay close to the market, customers, and competition to keep the range fresh, relevant, and competitive.
