About Tutti Bambini
Tutti Bambini is a family‑owned nursery furniture company founded over 30 years ago by Michael and Debra Samuel with the goal of supporting new mothers and fathers during their first steps into parenthood. After years working in nursery retail, and as parents themselves, Michael and Debra realised that nursery furniture available on the market often didn’t offer the versatility, value, and safety that new parents needed for their little ones. Drawing on a background in technical design, and on their own parenting experiences, Michael and Debra created Tutti Bambini: a nursery furniture range combining elegance and beauty with innovation and practicality. From its beginnings in a little London store, the Tutti Bambini brand has grown to become a feature in nurseries across the UK, and includes ranges of cots, cot beds, nursing chairs, highchairs, and more. Crafted to the highest standards of quality and safety, every piece of Tutti Bambini furniture is designed to be loved, and used, by families for years to come. Tutti Bambini has been acquired by Heroes in 2023, and is now part of Heroes' family of brands.
About The Role
We are seeking a methodical and observant Process Engineer for a 6‑month contract, with potential for extension, to lead our organisational maturity project. Your mandate is to transform our current operations into a robust, documented, and resilient system. You will map our end‑to‑end business workflows, identify critical knowledge silos, and develop "user manuals" that ensure business continuity. You will act as the architect of our "Standard Work," ensuring that we reduce our reliance on individual knowledge holders and eliminate single points of failure.
Responsibilities
- Process Mapping & Visualization: Create comprehensive, visual process maps (using BPMN or SIPOC) covering all core business departments.
- Knowledge Capture: Conduct "Gemba walks" and structured interviews with subject matter experts to document tacit knowledge and convert it into accessible SOPs and user manuals.
- Risk Audit: Identify "Single Points of Failure" and high‑risk manual processes, developing mitigation strategies or cross‑training plans for each.
- Continuous Improvement: Establish a framework for "Living Documentation," ensuring that processes are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect operational changes.
- Governance: Develop clear documentation standards to ensure consistency across all departments.
What success in the role looks like
- Has Created Centralized Knowledge: Migrated "tribal knowledge" into a searchable, reliable internal repository.
- Has Built Resilience: Eliminated single points of failure by mapping risks and implementing clear cross‑training plans.
- Has Created "Living" Processes: Established a culture where documentation is updated and owned by the teams, not just archived.
- Has Optimised Workflows: Re‑engineered high‑risk processes to improve efficiency, speed, and error reduction.
- Delivered Standardised Output: Enforced consistent documentation standards so every department follows the same clear, navigable format.
About You
- Methodology Expertise: Proficiency in business process mapping (BPMN 2.0, Flowcharting, SIPOC).
- Technical Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex, verbal "how‑to" knowledge into clear, concise, and structured written documentation.
- Interpersonal Skills: The ability to work with, observe, and influence people at all levels of the business without disrupting their daily operations.
- Analytical Thinking: A natural tendency to see the "flow" of work and identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks.
- Proficiency in Six Sigma or Lean management is a must have, a qualification in Six Sigma or other Lean process is a nice to have.
Location
