About the role
The Finance lead is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, analysing trends, and presenting timely Business Segment reports to the Senior Leadership Team. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, controlling segmental P&L and their cost centres, and managing cash needs as well as working capital. The Finance lead will also assist in the preparation of financial statements, and support the wider Heroes Finance team with the Group monthâend process and any reâstructuring projects that may arise!
Responsibilities
- Own the monthly reporting process for two of our six Business Segments. This includes reviewing the team's monthâend tasks and analysing YoY and actuals to budget variances, putting together commentary and allocating Group costs into the different brands and/or channels.
- Present monthly figures to the respective General Managers and help them understand trends. The finance lead will assist General Managers in driving change in their P&Ls towards higher profitability.
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and cash flow statements.
- Lead discrete areas of the month end closing process.
- Assist in the creation of deliverables for the annual external Group Audit and Group Financial Statements.
- Carry out the monthly reconciliation between Heroes' ERP (Netsuite) and our BI tool (Tableau).
- Perform FP&A analysis for the Business Segments in scope, including forecasts, budget, and providing actionable insights to support decisionâmaking and strategic planning.
- Manage cash and working capital needs of the Business Segments in line with the Group Cash Management policy. This task includes reviewing payment runs and approving payments on a weekly basis.
- Lead, together with the General Managers, the business segment budgeting exercise for their corresponding Segments.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Manage a team of two: a Management finance analysts and review their work.
About you
Accounting related undergraduate degree and/or training in an international accounting firm/bigâfour (ideally c.4 years' experience in total). Good knowledge of IFRS. Proactive and organised with good attention to detail. Proven track record of supporting business leaders through budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, with experience presenting results to senior management. Able to accurately analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas of improvement. Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately with colleagues at all levels and all professional backgrounds. Willing to adapt, learn and pick up new techniques and technologies. Able to prioritise and multitask in a fastâpaced environment, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Great team player who is open to change, new initiatives and oneâoff projects. Experience with NetSuite and/or in a fast moving e-commerce or retail business would be beneficial. Very high level of written and spoken English. Spanish is a plus.
