A growing engineering organisation is looking for a skilled and motivated Design Engineer to join its design and engineering team. This role offers real variety and involvement across the full design lifecycle, working closely with both internal teams and customers to deliver high-quality, buildable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop jigs, fixtures, guards, frames, and systems ranging from small bench‑mounted assemblies to fully bespoke machines
- Produce accurate 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings
- Attend and contribute to design review meetings, both internally and at customer premises
- Ensure designs meet functional, safety, quality, and manufacturing requirements
- Apply sound engineering principles, including tolerance fits, bearings, load cases, and moments
- Support manufacturing and assembly teams with technical input and design clarification
- Participate in continuous improvement of design standards, processes, and documentation
- Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and associated CAD design software
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, including tolerances, fits, bearings, materials, and structural considerations
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and well‑structured design documentation
- Experience designing special‑purpose machinery or mechanical systems
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team
- Ability to manage workload proactively and adapt to changing priorities
