We are seeking a Senior or Principal RF/Microwave Engineer to design, commission, and test RF/Microwave circuits for airborne radar systems. The role is based in Edinburgh with potential for hybrid working after initial onsite familiarisation. You may also lead and mentor junior engineers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and develop RF/Microwave circuits
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Support hardware/system integration and verification
- Ensure configuration control of designs
- Report on technical progress
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers
- Lead small engineering teams (if applicable)
Experience Required:
Essential:
- 5+ years in RF/Microwave design
- Experience with PCB materials, sub-systems, amplifiers, MMICs, and passive structures
- Proficiency in tools such as AWR, CST, ADS
- Strong knowledge of radar/RF systems
- Full hardware design lifecycle experience
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Desirable:
- Background in aerospace/defence
- Experience with DDS, PLL, DAC/ADC, low-noise and phase noise design
- Familiarity with requirements tools and team supervision
Qualifications:
- Degree in Electronic Engineering or related STEM subject
- UK citizenship required for SC clearance (existing clearance preferred)
