The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

To support the Projects team by developing accurately costed technical solutions for the successful delivery of major projects into National Grid.

What You’ll Do

  • Translate client requirements and specifications for Generator Projects into fully costed technical proposals, including:
  • Commercial offers
  • Technical specifications
  • Data sheets
  • Produce RFQs for subcontract resources and manage these through to costed proposals for PMU inclusion and handover
  • Prepare cost and price make-ups (CMU / PMU) aligned to client requirements
  • Support the National Grid Project team in negotiating:
    • Pricing
    • Technical solutions
    • Commercial terms and conditions
    • Contractual requirements while optimising project profitability and adhering to business guidelines
  • Apply National Grid business processes and technical specifications relating to the supply and installation of generators and ancillary equipment
  • Undertake tendering activities, including:
    • Site surveys
    • Client meetings (on-site and off-site)
  • Communicate effectively to ensure smooth handover of successful project orders to Project, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams
  • Provide technical support throughout project delivery to ensure successful completion and maximised profitability
  • Undertake additional tasks as directed by the National Grid Projects Manager
  • Person Specification

    • Graduate, HNC/HND, or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
    • Working knowledge of health and safety practices, including CDM regulations and responsibilities
    • Experience developing high-value projects, preferably within the power industry
    • Strong commercial awareness
    • High level of IT literacy, including spreadsheets and word processing tools
