We’re seeking a dedicated CHP Field Service Engineer to join our team, delivering high-value maintenance, commissioning, and support services for Combined Heat & Power (CHP) and biogas engine installations across the UK. This is a field-based role requiring regular regional travel, with responsibilities spanning service delivery to client liaison.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, commissioning, and routine servicing of CHP systems (typically 30 kW–3 MW) as per manufacturer standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults, working across LV and HV plant, including engines (Jenbacher, MWM, MAN) and control systems (DIANE, COMAP, DEIF, TEM).
  • Lead emergency breakdown support, including on-call coverage, ensuring rapid system recovery and minimal downtime.
  • Produce accurate service reports and documentation, including fault logs, maintenance records, and test results.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, maintaining professionalism during site interactions and technical handovers.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, adhering to company policies and best practice standards at all times.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Gas Engineering.
  • Significant hands-on experience with CHP, biogas or gas engine systems; overhauling, fault-finding, and control systems exposure.
  • Demonstrated mechanical fault-finding and repair skills; capable of troubleshooting composite system failures.
  • Experience with control systems such as COMAP, DEIF, DIANE, TEM, and 24 VDC installations.
