Job Responsibilities:
- Design electrical schematics and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical and/or EPLAN
- Develop electrical designs for special purpose machinery and automated equipment
- Produce wiring diagrams, I/O lists, cable schedules, and BOMs
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and regulations (e.g. BS EN, IEC, CE/UKCA)
- Support panel build, machine wiring, and fault finding during build and commissioning
- Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to specify components
- Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
Experience Required:
- Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN
- Experience designing control panels and electrical systems for machinery or automation
- Understanding of industrial control systems (PLCs, HMIs, safety circuits)
