This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end purchasing process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of materials, equipment, and services to support operations and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead procurement activities across multiple projects and operational requirements
- Source, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers in line with business and technical needs
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and framework agreements to achieve best value
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery, and performance targets are met
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to understand technical specifications and requirements
- Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal procedures
- Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply risks within engineering and industrial sectors
- Support cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement within the supply chain
- Resolve supplier issues, including delays, non-conformance, and commercial disputes
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and health & safety requirements
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in a Senior Buyer or similar procurement role within engineering, manufacturing, or heavy industry
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering requirements
- Experience managing complex supply chains and working with international suppliers
- Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and procurement tools
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical mindset
Desirable:
- Experience within power, utilities, or industrial infrastructure sectors
