My client specialises in the design and manufacture of custom automation equipment. Their mission is to provide a high quality Engineering service from start to finish with a firm policy of using British components whenever practical. This is achieved by leveraging years of experience and an extensive range of in-house facilities including specialised tools for design and manufacture of mechanical, electrical, mechatronic and pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with clients to identify their requirements and manage projects to ensure customer expectations and specifications and timings are met.
  • Investigate and undertake analysis on how to improve existing projects or components and ways to optimise cost and effectiveness.
  • Summarise scientific and engineering principles in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Write technical reports to summarise findings.
  • Cover the concept, specification, tender and development of new projects or components.
  • Design the detail, materials and functionality of components.
  • Use CAD, CAN and CAM systems to design and visualise projects.
  • Undertake model making, prototyping and product testing.
  • Undertake complex calculations to verify that designs meet safety and functional requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with the clients, colleagues and contractors involved in a project and work cooperatively with other members of the team.
  • Skilled user in Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.
