The Junior Controls Engineer will be responsible for the specification, design and delivery of the complete controls system for automation systems sold and delivered. This includes the electrical design, PLC and HMI software design, commissioning and fault finding of the controls systems. They will ensure that the Junior Control System elements of projects are completed on time, within budget and to the agreed specifications, meeting or exceeding the customer's expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Design and development of full, PLC based controls systems for automation systems.
- Developing PLC code and HMI systems, typically Siemens and Rockwell.
- Design and development of electrical control panels and electrical installations for systems including electrical calculations.
- Testing, fault finding/rectification and commissioning of electrical and control systems on our customers' sites.
- Preparing all necessary internal and external documentation in support of our control systems, including but not limited to supporting our clients in preparation of the URS, developing FDS documents, HMI/SCADA specifications, Electrical Specifications.
- Working with colleagues in preparation of communications documents and development of internal documents that support a standardised approach.
- Liaising with and controlling external partners in pursuit of best in class electrical solutions relating to our deliverables.
- Supporting the sales function in preparation of controls elements of sales offers and other deliverables.
- Ensuring smooth handover to the Customer Support team including provision of 'as built' drawings and 'as built' software (PLC and High level).
