A UK-based system integrator specialising in industrial control system upgrades and telemetry solutions are recruiting for an Instrumentation & Controls Technician, their core focus is the water industry, where they replace legacy systems to deliver improved reliability, safety, and performance. Their expertise spans PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, RTUs, and communication systems, covering the full project lifecycle — from design and integration through to commissioning and ongoing support. This is a varied and rewarding role that combines hands-on site work with technical office-based tasks. You’ll be responsible for the installation, investigation, and remediation of telemetry and ICA systems, as well as configuring RTUs and SCADA systems. Job Responsibilities: * Install, configure, and maintain telemetry equipment (RTUs, comms panels, and related infrastructure). * Diagnose, investigate, and remediate RTU issues, including configuration changes. * Carry out site surveys for ICA and telemetry systems, producing accurate asset records and recommendations. * Produce clear post-remediation reports for RTU works. * Conduct commissioning and site acceptance testing of RTUs and control systems. * Prepare and follow safety-related documentation (e.g., RAMS). Experience required: * Practical experience with ICA, telemetry, or control systems. * Knowledge of RTUs, SCADA, or related technologies (desirable). * Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills. * Willingness to travel, including regular visits to Ireland. * A proactive approach to safety, quality, and documentation
