The Project Engineer (Mechanical / E&I) is responsible for the successful delivery of custom-built compressor packages to industrial clients, managing projects from initiation through to completion while acting as the primary technical and commercial interface.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of custom-built compressor packages, acting as the main point of contact for client interfacing throughout the project lifecycle.
- Plan, schedule, control, and monitor project activities to meet critical milestones and deadlines.
- Liaise directly with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure requirements are fully understood and met, including:
- In-house specifications
- Regulatory and compliance requirements
- Material and design standards (e.g. ASME VIII, PD5500)
- Electrical and instrumentation industry standards
- Resolve technical and commercial issues, identifying practical solutions while protecting business interests.
- Prepare project-specific project management plans in line with client requirements.
- Produce and maintain accurate internal and external project reports.
- Guide and coordinate the design team to ensure drawings meet project specifications and support production activities.
- Raise purchase orders for structural, piping, controls, and instrumentation equipment in line with specifications and budget constraints.
- Work closely with Production and QHSE teams to prioritise and schedule manufacturing, build, and testing activities, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
Education
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, demonstrable industry experience in a similar role.
