This is an expanding engineering team seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer who is passionate about automation, problem-solving, and hands‑on work in the field.
As an Electrical Controls Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, programming, and commissioning of control systems for industrial automation projects. Your work will span from on-site surveying and system planning to PLC programming and start-up support. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys seeing projects through from concept to completion.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform on-site electrical and control system surveys to gather technical requirements and assess project scope.
- Design, develop, and implement PLC control logic using platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar.
- Create and modify HMI/SCADA interfaces to meet project needs.
- Support electrical design activities, including panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and I/O lists.
- Lead or assist in system commissioning, troubleshooting, and start-up activities at customer facilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, electricians, and mechanical engineers.
- Provide technical support and ensure successful project delivery that meets quality, safety, and performance standards.
- Document work, including system modifications, test results, and as-built updates.
Experience required
- Bachelor\’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field—or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or a related discipline (more experienced candidates also encouraged to apply).
- Hands-on experience programming PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, etc.).
- Working knowledge of HMI/SCADA systems and industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Profibus, Modbus, etc.).
- Familiarity with electrical schematics and control panel design.
