As a Switchgear Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, inspection, testing and fault-finding of LV and HV switchgear and associated power distribution equipment. The role is primarily site-based, combining hands-on technical work with direct customer interaction. You will support critical electrical infrastructure, ensuring systems operate safely, reliably and in line with relevant standards and procedures.
This position suits an engineer with a strong electrical background, confident working on live environments where downtime must be minimised and safety is essential. The ideal candidate will be experienced in electrical power systems and will strictly adhere to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements at all times.
Job Responsibilities:- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on LV and HV switchgear, including switchboards, distribution boards, breakers and protection devices.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults on power distribution systems in operational environments.
- Perform inspection, testing and verification of electrical installations in accordance with relevant standards and site procedures.
- Support commissioning activities for new or modified LV and HV switchgear installations.
- Assist with testing and verification of electrical interfaces to power monitoring, metering and control systems.
- Strong background in electrical power systems.
