About this position: Our client is seeking an experienced Siemens PLC Software Engineer to support a project located at AWE Burghfield. The role involves implementing modifications to an existing system and ensuring full documentation and testing throughout the project lifecycle. Candidates must hold DV Security Clearance.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and modify Siemens PLC software for S7-1500 series controllers.
- Configure and integrate WinCC TP Comfort Panel HMIs.
- Set up and manage Scalance XC Series Managed Network Switches operating in a ring topology.
- Commission and test systems with Siemens PLCs communicating as IO devices over a distributed network.
- Carry out full system testing and ensure all modifications are properly documented.
- Work closely with project and site teams to ensure compliance with technical and security requirements.
Experience Required:
- Proven experience with Siemens S7-1500 PLCs and WinCC TP Comfort Panels.
- Hands-on experience with Scalance XC Series Managed Switches and ring topology networks.
- Background in system commissioning, particularly involving Siemens distributed control systems.
- Strong understanding of full documentation lifecycle and system testing processes.
- DV Security Clearance is essential.
- Previous experience working on projects at AWE Burghfield or similar secure sites is highly desirable.
