We are currently recruiting for a QA Engineer to support an ongoing industrial project. This is a long-term contract role offering consistent hours, overtime opportunities, and weekend work on a rotational basis. The role will be site-based, overseeing the quality and compliance of electrical installation works within an industrial environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and inspecting electrical installation works to ensure they meet project specifications and quality standards
- Reviewing electrical drawings, schematics, specifications and installation documentation
- Carrying out quality inspections and checks throughout the installation process
- Ensuring electrical installations are completed in line with relevant BS7671 requirements and project standards
- Reviewing and verifying Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and quality documentation
- Checking electrical testing and inspection records, including test certificates
- Identifying, recording and managing snags, defects and non-conformances
- Working closely with electricians, supervisors, engineers and project management to resolve quality issues
- Maintaining accurate QA/QC records and ensuring all documentation is completed correctly
- Supporting the handover process by ensuring installations are fully inspected, tested and documented
- Ensuring all works are completed in line with site health & safety procedures
- Working 10-hour days, with overtime available and every other weekend worked
Experience Required:
- Proven experience working as a QA/QC Engineer within an industrial, electrical or heavy engineering environment
- Strong understanding of electrical installation and testing
- Good knowledge of BS7671 and electrical installation standards
- Experience reviewing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and quality documentation
- Experience inspecting electrical installations, including SWA cabling, containment, glanding and termination
- Experience identifying and managing non-conformances, defects and snags
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to quality assurance
- 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification would be highly advantageous
- Relevant electrical/engineering qualifications and site experience
- Ability to work long hours and commit to weekend overtime when required
