Key Duties and Skills:
- Carry out set up, testing and commissioning of machines for pre-delivery factory acceptance tests (FAT)
- Mechanical fitting of bespoke machinery
- Ability to assemble from Technical/Engineering drawings
- Understanding of Pneumatics and automation systems
- Installation of Motors, Gearboxes, Belts, Bearings, complex assemblies etc
- Use of various hand and power tools
- Use of machine tools
- Understanding and application of Health and Safety regulations
- Assist in fault finding and diagnosis of mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues during build and test phases, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal delays
- Assist with training and mentoring Mechanical Fitters in fitting techniques, safety practices, and build quality expectations
Essential:
- 3-5 years Mechanical Fitting experience, post qualification
- Mechanical fitting experience with bespoke machinery
- Experience setting up, testing and commissioning machines for pre-delivery
- Engineering qualifications / Apprenticeship served
- Machining skills; such as turning and milling
