We are seeking an experienced Multi-Axis Setter/Operator to join our growing team of skilled engineers. Continued investment and business growth have created an exciting opportunity within our family-run company, established for over 80 years and specialising in high-precision components for the aerospace, automotive, and oil & gas sectors.
Role Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain Matsuura 5-axis machining centres
- Work to tight deadlines and complex customer specifications
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical data
- Select tooling, fixtures, and work-holding methods
- Work collaboratively to meet production and quality targets
- Apply a “Right First Time” approach and support full component traceability
- Liaise with team leaders and management regarding equipment needs
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Ability to set up, operate, and maintain 3- and 5-axis CNC mills
- Competent with precision measuring equipment
- Strong focus on quality and attention to detail
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Positive, reliable, and proactive attitude
Preferred
- Fanuc control experience
- Knowledge of metallic materials
- Edgecam or similar CAM system experience
