Have you got experience in FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) and managing a production or technical team? An award-winning UK additive manufacturing company is seeking an experienced FDM professional to lead its production function. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for the output, quality, and efficiency of FDM production. You will manage a small team, oversee industrial FDM systems, and work closely with engineering and commercial teams to deliver time-critical manufacturing projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own day-to-day FDM production performance (throughput, quality, delivery)
  • Lead and develop a team of FDM technicians
  • Operate and maintain industrial FDM systems, including carbon fibre composite platforms
  • Define and optimise print parameters, material profiles, and post-processing standards
  • Support DFM and build strategy decisions with engineering
  • Drive process improvements to reduce waste, downtime, and reprints
  • Maintain production records and escalate issues proactively
  • Support technical input into quoting complex FDM projects

Experience Required:

  • Strong hands-on industrial FDM production experience
  • Experience with carbon fibre composite systems
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
