As part of the Northampton manufacturing team, this position requires manual fitting and stitching of prepared workloads to form leather shoe uppers. The role involves working both independently and as part of a team to meet production goals in terms of quality and quantity.
Main Activities:
- Become fully competent in stitching shoe uppers using a sewing machine, including under edging, sides, caps, etc.
- Be willing to learn all aspects of fitting a shoe upper.
- Work towards daily and weekly targets, ensuring high-quality standards.
- Prioritize work to meet production needs.
- Flex workload as needed to accommodate urgent tickets, machine breakdowns, or material shortages, and communicate with the Team Leader or Supervisor.
- Collaborate with the Team Leader and/or Supervisor to resolve quality or production issues.
- Maintain machinery and equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
