About us

Hermanos Colombian Coffee Roasters is our story as two brothers, Victor & Santiago, originally from Colombia and our passion for speciality coffee. All our coffee is Colombian Arabica speciality grade and we carefully select the best coffee beans and hand roast each batch (medium – light roasts) to ensure that you get the perfect cup. In line with what many call the 3rd wave of coffee, our focus is on the quality of the coffee beans, experimenting with new preparation methods, communicating the story behind the beans and the farmers, and sharing that knowledge and experience with our customers.

The Hermanos family is growing and we are on the lookout for a full-time barista for our coffee shop at Portobello Rd; to join us and be part of our journey. We are looking for people who want to build a career in the coffee business and develop their knowledge in addition to their skill sets.

You need to:

  • Have at least 1 year of experience working as a barista, preferable in an independent coffee shop - able to prepare all different types of espresso-based coffees.

The ideal candidates:

  • Must have a passion for coffee
  • Have the ambition to grow and build a successful career within the coffee industry
  • Must be able to demonstrate basic latte art skills
  • Must have knowledge of dialing-in and espresso extraction
  • Be looking to excel and grow within the business as the company grows
  • Be very enthusiastic, outgoing personality
  • Have excellent customer service skills
  • Be somebody who loves what they do and have fun whilst performing your day-to-day tasks
  • Be able to work independently and under pressure
  • Be able to engage with customers and support with on-site marketing activities
  • Be flexible with your working hours - (early start) AM or PM shifts and work weekends
  • Speak good English
  • Be a UK Resident, with the relevant work permits and evidence of the right to work in the UK.
