About Heritage Skills Academy

Heritage Skills Academy is a specialist apprenticeship training provider developing the next generation of skilled craftspeople for the historic vehicle industry. Working from Brooklands Museum and Bicester Motion, we partner with employers across the classic, vintage and heritage vehicle sector to deliver hands-on training in vehicle body repair, restoration and coachbuilding.

The Role

We are looking for experienced individuals to join our tutor team on a part-time basis, sharing practical skills in coachbuilding and vehicle body repair with apprentices working on classic, vintage and heritage vehicles.

We would love to hear from people with hands-on industry experience in one or more of the following:

  • Chassis repair
  • Panel work and fabrication
  • MIG/MAG welding
  • Resistance (spot) welding
  • Fibreglass repair
  • Plastic welding
  • Glazing

You do not need experience across all of these areas. We are just as interested in specialists with deep knowledge in a single discipline who would like to pass their skills on.

You will work with small groups of apprentices, delivering practical, workshop-based training and helping them develop the skills to repair and restore classic, vintage and heritage vehicles to a high standard.

This role would suit experienced technicians, panel beaters, restorers, coachbuilders and craftspeople who are passionate about passing on their knowledge and supporting the future of the trade. Previous teaching experience is welcome but not essential β€” we can support the right person to develop as a tutor.
