We are looking to further expand our Engineering team to meet the demand of our ever growing business. Candidates must be highly motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated to the engineering profession; previous experience in Medium/Heavy Engineering Industry is preferred but not essential.

The role will involve the conventional machining of castings, forgings and fabrications, batch work and bespoke 1 off components and some mechanical fitting. This role is crucial in ensuring the manufacture and supply of high-quality products, contributing to our commitment to excellence in manufacturing.

Must be a time served conventional Toolmaker or Machinist with a recognised apprenticeship qualification at Level 3 or higher or be time served within a Mechanical Engineering discipline.

  • Essential machining skills: Turning, Milling, Slotting and Boring to fine tolerances.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work off own initiative.
  • MUST be able to interpret and work in Imperial measurements.
  • Work constructively with team members to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
  • Valid UK Driving Licence.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in a Machinist/Machine Shop role.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with mathematics for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks.
  • Experience using Lathes, Milling Machines, Slotters and Borers.
  • A background in medium to heavy engineering is advantageous but not mandatory.
