Help bring Ramsgate’s historic buildings back to life. Heritage Lab Ramsgate is growing—and we're looking for an organised, proactive and delivery-focused Project Manager to help turn ambitious plans into real projects. We believe historic buildings can play a major role in the future of Ramsgate. They can provide space for businesses, cultural activity, community organisations, training, housing and tourism. Most importantly, they can help drive regeneration, create jobs and strengthen local pride.

Over the past few years, we've demonstrated what is possible through projects such as Ramsgate Works at the Old Wine Warehouse, while also developing an ambitious pipeline of heritage buildings and places that could be brought back into sustainable use. With significant new support from Historic England, we're now entering a new phase of growth. We are building partnerships, developing projects and creating the capacity needed to deliver meaningful heritage-led regeneration across Ramsgate and beyond. This is an opportunity to play a central role in that journey.

About the Role

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys making things happen at pace. You will work closely with the CEO, Board, contractors, consultants, partners and funders to help manage a growing portfolio of heritage-led regeneration projects. You'll take responsibility for planning, coordinating and monitoring projects, managing contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance, maintaining programme plans and helping develop future opportunities. The role will also play a key part in delivering our Historic England-funded Connecting Ramsgate's Heritage programme, ensuring that agreed outputs, milestones and reporting requirements are achieved.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing and coordinating heritage, regeneration and property projects
  • Developing and maintaining project plans, Gantt charts and delivery programmes
  • Working with contractors, consultants and suppliers
  • Obtaining and evaluating quotations and tenders
  • Monitoring project budgets, risks, outputs and milestones
  • Supporting the development of new heritage projects and opportunities
  • Helping manage compliance, health and safety and building-related responsibilities
  • Supporting the management of Ramsgate Works and other Heritage Lab properties
  • Preparing reports and evidence for Historic England, the Board and other stakeholders
  • Working with local partners, community organisations and public bodies
  • Helping ensure projects deliver meaningful community benefit and long-term sustainability

About You

  • Passionate about regeneration, heritage and making a positive difference locally
  • Organised, proactive, efficient and highly reliable
  • An excellent communicator who can work with a wide range of people
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities
  • Able to solve problems and keep projects moving forward
  • Experienced in project delivery, construction, property, regeneration, heritage or a related field
  • Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent experience
  • Ideally qualified in project management (PRINCE2, APM or equivalent)
  • Interested in working within a small, ambitious and purpose-driven organisation

Why join us

This is a chance to help shape the future of Ramsgate. You'll join a small but ambitious team working with organisations including Historic England, local partners, funders and community organisations to unlock the potential of historic buildings and places. The role offers genuine variety and the opportunity to work across strategy, project delivery, partnership development and regeneration. Most importantly, you'll have the opportunity to see your work create tangible positive change in the town.
