This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful Chartered, independent financial planning firm with a strong reputation for building long-term client relationships and delivering exceptional service. We are looking for an experienced Financial Planner / IFA who has previously worked within an independent financial advisory environment. We are mindful of restrictive covenants relating to existing clients; as a result of recent local IFA acquisitions, we are able to allocate you a portfolio of clients rather than expecting you to bring clients across.

You will work closely with clients, providers and colleagues, so strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. You will also demonstrate sound analytical and problem-solving skills, together with excellent attention to detail. Our advisers are supported by a robust operational structure, including an internal Compliance Manager and an experienced team of Paraplanners and Financial Administrators.

Job specification
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients (client base will be provided) and colleagues, communicating effectively at all levels.
  • Attend client meetings (which are diarised for you), reviews or new business either in the office or at the client’s home or business premises.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of clients’ financial circumstances, existing arrangements and future objectives.
  • Analyse information and develop tailored financial plans aligned to clients’ needs and goals.
  • Provide clients with clear, compliant information on suitable products and services from our centralised investment proposition where appropriate you can go off panel.
  • Network and liaise with other professional connections, including solicitors and accountants.
  • Proactively attract and develop new client relationships using agreed prospecting methods.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial products, markets and relevant legislation.
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding changes to products, markets or legislation that may affect their plans, savings or investments.
  • Ensure all compliance requirements are met, including disclosure, documentation of costs and charges, and suitability of advised products and services.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that all written reports accurately reflect discussions held with clients and the agreed recommendations.
  • Review existing processes and contribute suggestions to improve efficiency and client experience.
