We're building something exceptional at Heritage, and we need someone extraordinary to help us get there. This isn't your typical operations role; it's a unique opportunity to work directly with our COO on the most critical projects shaping our future. As our Operations Manager for Special Projects, you'll be the right hand to Mike, our COO leader, working on everything from supporting our investment arm to building entirely new business operations from the ground up. Think of this as a role where no two days are the same, where you'll touch everything from high-stakes custodian bank relationships to the nitty-gritty of setting up operations in new markets.
What You'll Actually Do
Right now, we're in the middle of establishing new country operations, and you'll be at the center of it all. This means orchestrating complex, multi-faceted launches that touch every aspect of the business and you'll own the execution from start to finish. For new country setups, you'll be working on everything from:
- Establishing business infrastructure and legal entities
- Implementing contracts and navigating local regulatory requirements
- Building out hiring strategies and bringing on the right local talent
- Deploying and configuring software systems for local operations
- Setting up banking relationships and payment rails
Beyond expansion projects, you'll support our regulatory setup, manage critical relationships with custodian banks (where your judgment and professional presence will be essential), and provide flexible support across our Addepar initiatives. These are all high-impact projects that directly drive our business forward.
Who Thrives Here
We're looking for someone smart and exceptionally hard-working, the kind of person who's maybe felt a bit too constrained in their current environment. Perhaps you're at a Big 4 firm like KPMG or EY, and while you've learned a ton, you're ready to do more than advise you want to build and execute. Or maybe you come from the fintech or payments world, where you've worked in operations, strategy, or business operations and know how to navigate complexity.
The ideal candidate has:
- 4 to 6 years of relevant professional experience in operations, consulting, or fintech
- Strong judgment and the executive presence to hold your own with sophisticated stakeholders like custodian banks
- The ability to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously without losing sight of the details
- A bias toward execution over presentation; we care less about PowerPoint skills and more about getting things done
Why This Role Matters
This isn't about checking boxes or climbing a traditional corporate ladder. It's about being in the room where decisions are made and working on projects that directly shape our company's trajectory. You'll gain breadth of experience that's rare at this career stage, touching everything from international expansion to custodian relationships to wealth management operations. You'll work directly with senior leadership on strategic initiatives, not just executing someone else's plan but helping shape the approach. You'll develop a unique skill set that combines operational excellence, strategic thinking, and hands-on execution. You'll see the direct impact of your work as new markets launch and operations scale.
Next Steps
We'll start with an initial conversation with our HR team to understand your experience, what drives you, and whether this opportunity aligns with what you're looking for. We'll focus on:
- Your relevant operational experience and how you approach complex projects
- What motivates you and why you're looking for your next challenge
- Your understanding of the role and how you see yourself contributing
From there, we'll move quickly; we know great talent doesn't stay on the market long. At Heritage, we are proud to have a diverse team representing over 15 nationalities, with all communication conducted in English. We are deeply committed to providing equal opportunities and work actively to remove potential biases in our hiring process by involving a Hiring Committee in all decision-making.
