Heritage is a modern global investment office built by a collective of respected families and entrepreneurs with over a century of business-building experience. We provide privileged access to top-performing alternative assets, superior portfolio construction, and a technology-enabled open‑architecture platform connecting clients to some of the world’s most exclusive opportunities.
We believe in mastery. Our investment team brings direct experience from leading institutional hedge fund platforms, asset managers, and allocators, supported by rigorous research frameworks and disciplined portfolio construction.
We believe in alignment. We invest alongside our clients with real skin in the game, applying the same standards and governance used for the founding families.
We believe in technology. Our advanced digital platform centralizes, analyses, and benchmarks portfolios across managers, strategies, and asset classes, enabling better decision-making and risk management at scale.
Your Role: As a Hedge Fund Research Analyst, you will lead manager research, selection, and ongoing oversight across offshore and UCITS hedge fund strategies, supporting institutional-quality hedge fund allocations for UHNW clients. The role is research-and-governance-led, not discretionary portfolio management, and includes meaningful interaction with clients and advisors. You will work closely with senior investment professionals and the Investment Committee, while also helping advisors and clients understand portfolio positioning, manager roles, and risk characteristics.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Sourcing, evaluating, and selecting hedge fund managers across core strategies
- Owning the hedge fund due diligence and conviction framework (buy, watch, avoid)
- Leading ongoing manager monitoring and recommending adds, trims, or exits
- Advising on fund terms, fees, liquidity, and capacity constraints
- Preparing and presenting materials to the Investment Committee
- Supporting client- and advisor-facing discussions, including portfolio updates, manager positioning, and strategy education
- Building and maintaining senior relationships with hedge fund managers and key counterparties
About You:
- 5–8 years of experience in hedge fund research and allocation, ideally within an institutional allocator, asset manager, family office, or fund of funds
- Offshore hedge fund experience is essential; UCITS experience is strongly preferred
- Broad understanding across hedge fund strategies, with a strong ability to distinguish true alpha from disguised beta
- Proven track record in manager sourcing, not just monitoring, supported by a credible global network across managers, prime brokers, capital introduction, and the allocator community
- Strong analytical skills and experience working with risk, performance, and portfolio analytics
- Proven ability to draft high-quality investment papers and present under Investment Committee scrutiny
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- High judgement, independent thinker, and comfortable recommending “no” when appropriate
- Structured, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating with responsibility and accountability
- Prior experience working with UCITS hedge fund platforms
- Exposure to UHNW client portfolios or multi-family office environments
- Familiarity with hedge fund analytics and reporting tools
What We Offer:
- Work alongside top-tier professionals from leading institutional investment platforms and global family offices
- Direct exposure to top-tier and emerging hedge fund managers globally
- A high-performance, collaborative, and entrepreneurial culture
- Real responsibility and ownership from day one
- Opportunity to help shape hedge fund research, governance, and allocation frameworks within a growing, tech-enabled platform
- Quarterly team offsites
- Clear growth paths and increasing responsibility as the platform scales
At Heritage, we are proud to have a diverse team representing over 15 nationalities, with all communication conducted in English. We are deeply committed to providing equal opportunities and work actively to remove potential biases in our hiring process by involving a Hiring Committee in all decision-making.
