A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join The Needles Landmark Attraction. Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead and develop Health, Safety and Compliance across The Needles Landmark Attraction and Sandham Gardens, ensuring legal compliance, operational excellence and a positive safety culture across the business.
The Health & Safety Manager is responsible for leading, developing and continually improving Health, Safety and Compliance across The Needles Landmark Attraction and Sandham Gardens. The role exists to ensure Heritage Attractions Ltd provides a safe, legally compliant and professionally managed environment for employees, visitors, volunteers and contractors whilst supporting the delivery of an exceptional visitor experience.
Operating as a member of the Senior Management Team, the Health & Safety Manager provides strategic leadership and professional advice across all areas of the business. The post holder is responsible for the organisation, control and administration of the Company's Health & Safety Management System, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, Heritage Attractions Ltd policies, recognised industry guidance and best practice.
Working collaboratively with departmental managers to promote a proactive Health & Safety culture and support safe, efficient business operations. The role requires a highly visible presence across the attraction, building positive working relationships, coaching managers and employees, identifying opportunities for improvement and leading by example.
The Health & Safety Manager has direct line management responsibility for the Training & Compliance Officer and retains overall accountability for the Company's statutory and operational training strategy, competency management, induction programmes, First Aid provision, compliance monitoring and associated management systems. Whilst many day-to-day administrative functions are delegated to the Training & Compliance Officer, overall governance, assurance and compliance remain the responsibility of the Health & Safety Manager.
The Health & Safety Manager will demonstrate strong leadership, sound judgement and a practical approach to Health & Safety management, ensuring legal compliance is achieved whilst supporting efficient business operations and an outstanding customer experience.
Essential Requirements
- NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent Level 3 qualification).
- Proven Health & Safety management experience within leisure, hospitality, tourism, visitor attractions or a similar operational environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation.
- Experience conducting audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication, leadership and influencing skills.
Desirable
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 qualification.
- Fire Risk Assessment and Incident Investigation qualifications.
What We're Looking For
A proactive and professional Health & Safety leader with strong organisational skills, sound judgement and the ability to influence positive change across a dynamic visitor attraction environment.
Salary: £34,000 to £37,000 dependent on experience.
