Employment Summary

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will develop warm and trusting relationships with people with learning disabilities to help them lead fulfilling and independent lives.

You will support tenants with personal care, household chores, meal planning and preparation, and leisure activities inside and outside the home.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with service users.
  • Provide personal care and support with daily living activities.
  • Assist with household chores and meal preparation.
  • Encourage and support participation in leisure activities.
  • Follow safeguarding policies and person-centred practice.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience supporting adults in a care setting or community (preferred).
  • Awareness and understanding of learning disabilities.
  • Good communication skills, patience and flexibility.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and person-centred support.
  • Flexible working pattern, may accompany service users on holidays.
  • NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care or relevant qualification (preferred).
  • Experience is desirable but not essential; full training provided.
