An award-winning cognitive technology company is looking for a commercially-minded Legal Counsel to join as its first in-house lawyer. This is a rare opportunity to step into a standalone legal role, shaping the legal function in a growing and purpose-driven environment.

This HealthTech innovator is redefining how brain health is measured and monitored through cutting-edge software and digital assessments. With customers ranging from global pharma to academic institutions, the company plays a vital role in clinical trials, cognitive research, and healthcare delivery.

You’ll be the go-to person for all legal matters, reporting into the executive team and working closely with commercial, product, and compliance teams. Key responsibilities include:

  • Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing a wide range of commercial agreements
  • Advising on data protection, IP, and regulatory matters
  • Supporting international expansion and partnerships
  • Managing external counsel
  • Establishing scalable legal processes and policies

About You:

  • Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with circa 4+ years’ PQE
  • Strong background in commercial contracts, ideally with exposure to tech, SaaS, or life sciences
  • Confident working autonomously and partnering with senior stakeholders
  • Comfortable handling a broad in-house workload with a pragmatic, risk-aware approach
  • Interest in healthcare, neuroscience, or digital health is a bonus
