Heriot Brown is partnering with a global telecommunications and digital infrastructure business to appoint an Employment Lawyer to its high-performing in-house legal team. Operating internationally in the B2B space, the organisation supports more than 5,000 employees worldwide and provides secure and reliable network, voice, and data solutions to thousands of business customers globally. The legal function is a substantial and well-resourced team of approximately 100 professionals spanning legal, privacy, ESG, and operations.
The Opportunity
Based in London, this role will support the business on a broad range of employment law matters across multiple jurisdictions. Working closely with HR and senior stakeholders, you will provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice on both contentious and non-contentious employment issues within a dynamic international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters across the UK and internationally
- Support HR and business leaders on employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, redundancies, and terminations
- Advise on employment aspects of corporate transactions, restructures, and organisational change
- Draft, review, and update employment contracts, policies, and procedures
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions
- Manage employment disputes and liaise with external counsel where required
- Deliver training to internal stakeholders on employment law developments and best practices
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business
About You
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
- Approximately 5–8 years' PQE specialising in employment law
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law
- International employment law experience is a non-negotiable requirement for this position
- Experience gained in private practice and/or in-house within a commercial environment
- Commercially minded, with the ability to balance legal risk and business objectives
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Interest in the technology, telecommunications, or digital infrastructure sectors would be advantageous
