The successful candidate will provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice across a range of matters, with a particular focus on commercial contracts, regulatory issues, ESG, disputes, IP-related matters and digital initiatives. The role would suit a lawyer around 5–7 PQE who enjoys working closely with the business, understands how to balance legal risk with commercial objectives, and is looking for a role with breadth, responsibility and exposure to senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clear, practical and commercially focused legal advice across a range of commercial, regulatory and business-facing matters.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, supporting stakeholders through the full contract lifecycle.
  • Working closely with senior lawyers to identify, manage and escalate legal, regulatory and reputational risks.
  • Building strong relationships with business stakeholders and acting as a trusted legal partner.
  • Supporting the instruction and management of external counsel, ensuring advice is proportionate, commercial and cost-effective.
  • Contributing to legal team processes, templates, know-how and operational effectiveness initiatives.
  • Working collaboratively across the wider legal team and wider business functions.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualification as a solicitor, ideally around 5–7 PQE.
  • Strong commercial contracts experience, gained in-house or in private practice.
  • Experience working with FMCG, retail, manufacturing or similarly fast-paced commercial businesses would be highly advantageous.
  • Good judgement, strong communication skills and the ability to provide practical, risk-based advice.
  • Confidence managing stakeholders and working across competing priorities.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to a supportive, high-performing legal team.
