We are working with a well-backed transport infrastructure business delivering and managing critical assets across Scotland. With a growing portfolio of projects and long-term investment into strategic transport networks, the business is looking to appoint a Senior Real Estate Lawyer to support a broad range of property and development matters. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced real estate lawyer seeking a high-quality in-house role with genuine flexibility. The position is part-time and offers mostly remote working, with occasional travel for key meetings when required.

The Opportunity

You will act as a senior legal adviser across a range of real estate matters linked to infrastructure assets, operational estates and future development projects. The role will involve close interaction with commercial, operational and leadership stakeholders. Key areas of work are likely to include:

  • Acquisitions and disposals of land and property interests
  • Landlord and tenant matters across a varied estate portfolio
  • Easements, wayleaves, access rights and title issues
  • Development agreements and support on new infrastructure projects
  • Property aspects of procurement, construction and commercial arrangements
  • Managing external counsel where needed
  • Providing pragmatic legal advice to senior stakeholders across the business

About You

We are interested in speaking with lawyers who bring:

  • Qualified solicitor in Scotland or another UK jurisdiction
  • Strong grounding in commercial real estate / property law
  • Experience gained in private practice or in-house
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise effectively in a lean environment
  • Commercial mindset and confidence dealing with senior stakeholders
  • An interest in infrastructure, transport, utilities or asset-heavy businesses would be advantageous

Why Consider It?

  • Rare senior-level part-time in-house legal opportunity
  • Mostly remote working model with strong flexibility
  • Interesting, strategic asset base with long-term projects
  • Broad, business-facing remit rather than narrow transactional support
  • Opportunity to make a visible impact within a growing organisation
