Our client is building a cutting-edge network of EV charging stations across the country, driven by a mission to make clean energy accessible to everyone. They are now seeking a skilled Real Estate Lawyer to join their London-based team and support their ambitious expansion plans.
The Opportunity:
We’re recruiting a talented Real Estate Lawyer to play a pivotal role in our client’s UK growth. You’ll provide expert legal guidance on property acquisitions, leases, and compliance for EV charging station sites, blending real estate law with the exciting world of renewable energy. This is a unique opportunity to join a purpose-driven start-up and make a lasting impact on sustainable transport.
Key Responsibilities
- Property Transactions :
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including purchase agreements, leases, and easements for charging station locations.
- Conduct due diligence, including title searches, planning permissions, and environmental assessments.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to secure strategic sites.
- Regulatory Expertise :
- Ensure compliance with UK real estate, planning, and environmental regulations, including the Town and Country Planning Act and Environmental Permitting Regulations.
- Advise on local authority permissions and liaise with regulatory bodies to secure approvals.
- Contract and Risk Management :
- Develop and maintain standardised real estate contract templates to streamline processes.
- Manage ongoing contractual obligations and resolve disputes with landlords or partners.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with property transactions and land use.
- Strategic Support :
- Provide high-level legal advice to senior leadership on real estate matters impacting business objectives.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Qualified solicitor or barrister in England and Wales with 2+ years of experience in real estate law.
- Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating commercial property contracts, leases, and easements.
- Strong knowledge of UK planning, zoning, and environmental regulations.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with a collaborative approach.
- Passion for sustainability or interest in the EV/renewable energy sector is a strong advantage.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
