I’m currently working on the appointment of a Legal Counsel to join the legal team supporting one of the UK’s largest and most complex infrastructure projects. This is an opportunity for a construction or projects lawyer who enjoys the technical side of major project delivery. The role will focus on the procurement and delivery of significant engineering and equipment packages, spanning design, manufacture, installation and commissioning.
Working closely with engineering, commercial, procurement and project teams, you’ll advise throughout the contract lifecycle and help the business navigate the legal and commercial issues that arise across complex, high-value projects. The role will include:
- Drafting and negotiating complex construction and equipment supply contracts
- Advising on NEC and FIDIC contractual arrangements
- Supporting contract management throughout the delivery phase
- Advising on variations, claims and potential disputes
- Managing complex, high-value and high-risk contractual matters
- Working closely with senior stakeholders and external legal advisers
- Providing broader legal support across issues connected with project delivery
This is an opportunity to become genuinely embedded in a major infrastructure programme, working alongside the teams responsible for taking complex engineering packages from procurement and contracting through to completion. We’re particularly interested in speaking with lawyers who have experience of major infrastructure, engineering, energy or construction projects, together with a strong understanding of construction supply chain contracts. The role is London-based with hybrid working practices.
