We are working on an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join a well-established international business operating across multiple brands and markets. This is a broad, business-facing role, supporting senior lawyers and working closely with stakeholders across the organisation. The successful candidate will provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice across a range of matters, with a particular focus on commercial contracts, regulatory issues, ESG, disputes, IP-related matters and digital initiatives.
The role would suit a lawyer around 5–7 PQE who enjoys working closely with the business, understands how to balance legal risk with commercial objectives, and is looking for a role with breadth, responsibility and exposure to senior stakeholders.
Key responsibilities will include:- Providing clear, practical and commercially focused legal advice across a range of commercial, regulatory and business-facing matters.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, supporting stakeholders through the full contract lifecycle.
- Working closely with senior lawyers to identify, manage and escalate legal, regulatory and reputational risks.
- Building strong relationships with business stakeholders and acting as a trusted legal partner.
- Supporting the instruction and management of external counsel, ensuring advice is proportionate, commercial and cost-effective.
- Contributing to legal team processes, templates, know-how and operational effectiveness initiatives.
- Working collaboratively across the wider legal team and wider business functions.
- Qualification as a solicitor, ideally around 5–7 PQE.
- Strong commercial contracts experience, gained in-house or in private practice.
- Experience working with FMCG, retail, manufacturing or similarly fast-paced commercial businesses would be highly advantageous.
- Good judgement, strong communication skills and the ability to provide practical, risk-based advice.
- Confidence managing stakeholders and working across competing priorities.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to a supportive, high-performing legal team.
