A leading global insurance broker and risk advisory business is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join its UK legal team on a 3–4 month fixed term contract. This role has arisen due to increased commercial activity and requires a lawyer with strong insurance sector experience and commercial contracts expertise who can provide immediate legal support to the business with minimal supervision. You will work closely with commercial, risk and compliance stakeholders across a broad range of insurance, regulatory and commercial matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising on insurance distribution, broking and client arrangements
  • Drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, including supplier, technology, outsourcing and services agreements
  • Supporting on regulatory and conduct matters relevant to insurance intermediaries
  • Advising on client onboarding, panel terms and framework agreements
  • Providing pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice to senior stakeholders
  • Supporting the legal team with BAU matters and overflow work during a busy period
  • Liaising with compliance and risk teams to ensure regulatory alignment
