The Role

We’re looking for a Legal Counsel with strong commercial experience and Security Clearance to join the UK Public Sector legal team, a key function within the wider Legal, CoSec & Regulatory Affairs unit. You’ll deliver expert legal and contractual advice on complex public sector matters, supporting strategic bids, regulatory compliance, and high-value commercial negotiations. This is a varied and impactful role offering the opportunity to work closely with business leaders, advise on major public sector projects, and shape outcomes that affect national infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead legal support on medium-complexity bids and support senior lawyers on large-scale, strategic deals.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate customer and subcontractor agreements, including complex change control provisions.
  • Provide clear, commercial legal advice to maximise opportunities and mitigate risk.
  • Advise stakeholders on disputes, new initiatives, and emerging legislation.
  • Promote compliance and effective risk management across the organisation.

What we’re looking for:

  • UK-qualified lawyer with 1 - 3 years PQE or equivalent experience advising on public sector commercial contracts.
  • Must be eligible for, or already holding, Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance (UK citizenship and 10+ years’ continuous UK residency required).
  • Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements within complex or regulated environments.
