A FTSE 100 global services business is seeking an experienced Interim Legal Director – M&A to support its dynamic international legal team. With a track record of over 200 acquisitions across Europe, Asia, and Latin America in the past decade, this is an exceptional opportunity to contribute at the forefront of complex, cross-border deal activity. This role is ideal for a commercially minded M&A lawyer who enjoys fast-paced environments and thrives on strategic collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or support on legal due diligence processes for domestic and international acquisitions
- Advise on transaction structuring, risk allocation, and governance protocols
- Negotiate and draft share purchase agreements (SPAs), asset purchase agreements (APAs), and related documents
- Provide legal support on post-completion integration and disputes
- Collaborate with internal M&A, Tax, Treasury, and Legal teams across regions
- Manage relationships with external legal advisers as required
- Act as a strategic partner to the business, balancing commercial priorities with legal risk
- Contribute to continuous improvement of M&A legal processes and templates
Key Requirements
- UK qualified solicitor with a minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience in M&A
- Strong transactional background, ideally with exposure to multi-jurisdictional deals
- Comfortable operating autonomously and providing strategic legal input at senior levels
- In-house M&A experience or secondments strongly preferred
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
